    Job Seeking Expenses

    Hello,

    Can a person deduct job seeking expenses, for example travel to another state. If the person still has a job in the same field? Merely to possible relocate. This person is currently employed. Thanks for any help.

      Yes see TTB page 4-24 Job Search Expenses.

      If the taxpayer is looking for work in the same profession they are dedcutible even when the taxpayer is unsuccessful. Warning ob expenses for a new line of work or profession are not deductible.
