    I Passed!!!

I just wanted to brag, and I never do this.

I recently took the EA exam in Oct and Nov. and got my letters of congratulations that I passed all three parts! It was my first time taking the exam.

I want to extend my gratitude towards the authors of THE TAX BOOK. Before preparing for the exam, I read through the 2005 book; every section. I studied it and really soaked in all of the knowledge my tiny brain could hold.

Anyway, I downloaded the 2005 EA exam and took the exam just for fun. I passed all four parts; but just barely. I ordered some EA Exam materials from ArthurEA and studied my rear end off every night.

I don't think I could have passed this test without the information in THE TAX BOOK and some relentless studying.

I really wanted to send this post to those thinking about taking the exam. This is a huge cliche, but IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!!! Good luck to those taking the exam this year and remember to breathe.

Thanks again to everyone on this board; you educate me everyday. And thanks again to the authors of THE TAX BOOK.

Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

Congrats also! Reasonably tough test extensive.

And you're right. Participation on this board seems to broaden your knowledge into a higher echelon.

I took the exam during that time also. I guess my letter is "in the mail". Wish me luck!

                    Great job

Congrats Dave! I know how great I felt when the official letter came last year telling me I passed the EA exam. It made me feel like all the studying from June to September was worth it.

                      Dave,
I felt the same when I got the letter after passing all 4 parts on the first try in 1985!

                        Relieved

When I took the exam in 1998, it was the year that a different department of the IRS made out the exam. There was much discussion and disagreement about it, which delayed the results being given out until much later than usual, while I sat anxiously waiting.

There were groups that would give you the unofficial answers within a short period of time, for a price, and even they delayed the replies because they were arguing among themselves about the correct answer. It looked as if I might have passed 2 to 3 parts and could carry credit on the other, based on their conclusions.

When the official results came out, the IRS had decided to throw out some of the questions. On the parts that the unofficial group showed me scoring high, I barely passed. On the ones that they showed as borderline,or not making it, I got the best scores, well above passing. Go figure.:-) The final result was that I passed all four and was tremendously relieved. I was past the point of being ecstatic by then.

                          Congratulations.

That is not an easy accomplishment.
