Trust termination expenses

Recently there was a post about trust termination expenses paid after termination. Brad's response was payments made shortly after termination can be deducted in the year of termination. If a state tax payment was made on April 15 for a calendar year trust is this shortly after?

I would say yes, because the liability was established prior to the end of the trust.
