    Eic

    Ultra Tax Users
EIC has a question about us retaining information in our files.
What is necessary? Right now I just ask where the kids live and make sure they quality.
We really don't like paper and want to keep just the minimum.

users hereabouts (too epensive for most, I think), so maybe if we promote this post back to the top, they'll notice and you can get an answer to this question.

What's "Mahalo" mean? Goodbye? If so, what's "hello?"

      Hawaiian language

      Mahalo is "Thank You".

I scan the 8867 and any docs that the client filled out, such as an organizer with the kiddies name, etc. on it.

            I don't remember

the source but we started keeping the 8867s in a central file. The reasoning was the IRS was making spot checks with regards to eic. We kept the 8867 seperate to keep agents noses out of the clients file.

They came to your office for a "random" check? Were they auditing one of your clients? If not, what were they doing there? Details, please.
