    940-ez

Has this form been abolished, banned, excommunicated, and replaced with a "new and improved" consolidated 940? Clients haven't received any yet and the '06 version is not up on IRS website although the '06 "long" 940 is.

Yes BB my understanding is that the 940ez is no longer. If you file your clients electronically I think the new form is available now. I know my bookkeepers have already started the 940's. Maybe it is my program creative solutions.

        940

It is not really a long form. Page 1 is straight forward and you no longer need the suta # nor do you need to enter suta payments. It is just a simple calc with a prepayment line.

Now, if you have additional issues you will be required to complete a schedule(s). So the 940 is really a simpler form than 940EZ.

Speaking of "EZ" is it not funny that the IRS uses the term easy to describe a form. When have you ever know anything the IRS does to be easy or simple. Heck for some of there people waking up is a complicated task.
