    The 11th Commandment

"I didn't make any money on that transaction" does not fit on any known tax schedule, form, or line on the tax return.

(I have seriously asked clients where I should put that statement on their return and only received a "DUH!" look!)

        The 12th Commandment

Thou shalt keep a mileage log to prove the business use of your vehicle.

"Surely, this log thing doesn't apply to me" is not usable in an audit!

          Sold that property in 2005

Just wanted to report it in 2006 because I will have less income, therefore my tax would be less.
WHAT!!!!you mean you have to report it in the year you sell it?

            more of a custom

            >>report it in 2006 because I will have less income<<

I think this is more of a custom than a law.

              The 13th Commandment

                The 14th Commandment

Thou shalt run a professional tax preparation business and lose more clients to the funeral director than to the competition!

I have to agree with jainen , not sure we can allow that one. But I like the effort.

                        two more

Here's two more. I haven't been able to think of a clever way to dress them up, so they'll just have to stand on their own merits.

Pickup trucks are 100% business--that should be obvious!

Realtors have no personal life. Since everyone is a potential client, everything they do is deductible.

                          The 18th Commandment

Thou shalt not question thy minister/client's tax records!

Do you presume that he shall break the commandment: Thou shalt not lie!

                            The amount of refund

The amount of refund is less important than how quickly you can get it.

The amount of tax is less important than the amount of penalty.
