I'm wondering...how are the tax SW companies handling the Tax Extender Act's requirements for the letter codes?

Same as they do for other items requiring codes. My software has screens for input which then carry to the proper lines. I would go to the screen and enter the sales tax, educator expense, etc. and the software would print the letter. I believe there is a similar situation every year for people who owe SS on retirement benefits.
