    Game Show Prize

    A customer won a nice sum of money on a TV Game show filmed in California. She is a Wisconsin resident.

    Does California get to tax any of this money?

    Yes. She files a 540NR & is taxed on the portion of income which is CA sourced.

      Presumably she'll also take a credit on her Wisconsin return for taxes paid to California.
