The new uncluttered Form 1040

Do any of my fellow graying colleagues here remember this? It seems like I remember when I first started in this business (late 60s-early 70s), that the 1040A form was on one-half of one page? Is that right?

tax return was for 1956 and it was that punch card style, front and back. I have it framed and fondly display it for clients.

Income that year was about 650$, 600 from father's business and 50 part time for a CPA
firm helping with a utility audit. But most important was the refund to this college student.

refund? ...sigh.
