Does anybody have a good resource on how to construct an effective abatement letter. I have a client who would like to try an abate some penalties but I have informed the client I have not prepared one in the past.

If you want to spend a little money, you can buy Tax Corresponder from CFS, they have all kinds of letters from Audit correspondence, Client correspondence, Estate planning letters, etc. I believe there web site is taxtools.comComment
