    IRS failure to pay notices..

I've seen several IRS notices related to clients that were efiled and mailed in 1040V payment vouchers. The notice indicates the IRS has not received the payment and demands such.

Via the e-services account transcript on one, I can see the return processed, the payment received, and so on. I'm going to a e-services seminar at the state IRS office tomorrow where I'll ask what's up.

I'm curious if anyone of you are seeing these? I'm aware of at least three accounting offices in town that have seen these.

    IRS Failure to Pay Notices

Yes - I had one situation about 2 months ago.
I'm a New York CPA/EA, and the return involved a client whose tax address is Florida. Client sent the balance due to the proper address for a Florida resident. The return was on extension to October 15th - The return was done and tax was paid during the summer time. Once we answered the IRS notice with a copy of the cancelled check (both sides) the assessment was cancelled (except for interest due on late payment).
