Hourly Billing Rates

Lets see how we all compare with our hourly billing rates. Please show your location, not city, but geographical area.

Mine:
South Texas
1040 - $80/hour Though I bill by the form/schedule, it is based on this hourly rate.
1065, 1120, 1120S - $90/hour. I bill these by the hour as each one is different.
Bookkeeping for individuals - $60/hour
Bookkeeping for 1065, 1120, 1120S - $70/hour
Payroll reports - $60/hour

Upstate NY:
We do 1040's only: $150. hr.
1065, 1120, etc we sent out to a CPA and markup off of him. Has worked well
and has freed me up to do more 1040's.
Bookeeping. $35. hr
Payroll I also send out and double the rate that the service charges us.

1040 returns at $75.00 per hour
1065, 1120, 1120S at $125.00 per hour
Bookkeeping and payroll services at $40 to $60 per hour depending on type and size of entity.

Wake County, NC aka Long Island South

1040, 1065, 1120 - $105 per hour, although we normally bill per form

Representation - $105 per hour, 5 hour retainer required

Bookkeeping - $125 per month (includes 1st 50 transaction), $50 for each additional batch of 100 transactions or $40 per hour in conjunction with tax preparation

$75 per hour for consulting, nuisance work or other tasks

Hourly rates-North Texas

I don't bill by the hour but my best estimate is the billings average:
$100 per hour for most 1040s
$150 per hour for most 1120's, 1120S's and 1065s

I generally only do one 1141 for a former co-worker when I was with an the Oil and Gas Production company--and I probably get about $ 5.00 per hour for his 1040 and 1041 just to keep him from thinking he is imposing on me by doing it free.

$150/hr Tax (Min $150 on 1040s - most are included as part of a business return)

I generally try to charge a set price whenever possible but add (in my engagement letter) that I will bill for deviations beyond 10% of actual (based on time & expenses incurred).

150 - 450 per hour for all tax compliance depending on the experience level of the individual preparing the return.

60 per hourt for administrative tasks.
