I think the "powers to be" are the only ones that can delete a thread, altho we have the user capability to delete our post.

A thread or a post?

I didn't mean how to delete an entire thread; just how to delete my post. But thinking about it, I guess if my post was the first one and/or only one, then deleting that post would be the same as deleting the thread.

Delete your post

Yes, I would guess deleting your post as first in the thread, might delete the entire thread, but not sure.

From the FAQ

To edit or delete your posts, click the button by the post you want to edit. If your post was the first in the thread, then deleting the post may result in the removal of the entire thread.
