      Black Bart & Sandy

Thanks again. It's nice to be remembered, although I really don't post very often but do read most every posting.

Now if we could get Billy O over here ?

      Regard - - Ricardo

          Still Here

          Hi all,
This is Noel (sounds like no-well)LOL. As a minor correction. I am a she not a he and I got married 23 years ago, no room for a crazy client.
It took me a while to find everyone. Glad I found you guys. I read daily and so many of the posts clear up many questions I have.
THANKS TO ALL WHO POST AND GIVE SUCH GREAT GUIDANCE!
I did take the advice of everyone that posted regarding that crazy client. He wound up paying capital gains. I went through every step numerous times and made him bring me paperwork to back up everything he told me. Without everyone's advice, I would have felt exposed on that one, thanks again to everyone.

Why don't you try a post on something? We'd like to know what you think about some things. It doesn't matter if it sounds like a silly question or statement. Look at the hogwash I post--it can't be any wackier than that. Give it a shot. Nobody will laugh and maybe we'll get a sense of the real Ricardo. Thanks.

                    the Other board

There are still a few people over there and a lot of new ones. I pop in every so often just to stir things up, which I did yesterday. It was the 1099 vs W2 issue, again.

There is also the Fairmark board which is very serious dealing a lot with pension and retirement plans. Doesn't seem to be much humor over there. Oh! I forgot! Taxes are a serious thing. I see jainen over there quite a bit, but no one else from the other boards.

I wasn't sure it was him because there was no "c" after the name, but the "style" is unmistakeable.

                      Give me a hand

Yeah, that's me all right, and I'm getting pretty worn down by it all. The only reason I've been online so much is trying to avoid the bitter end of extensions which of course comes down to my own Schedule C. I gotta lighten up. Give me a hand, do you mind?

                        Postings

                        Jainen,

Makes two of us being on the boards. Just need the break from the reality of finishing our own returns, as well as those of the"tardy" clients. Between that and playing a couple hands of solitaire (on the personal computer of course) is a good tool to refocus on the numbers, receipts and statements making up the tax return.

The 1099, line 21 issue subject to or not subject to, and the 1099 issue using the 4137 is one that rears its "ugly" head several times a year. So the postings are interesting and informative. We are seeing more and more of this as so called employers don't want to pay work comp or payroll taxes.

So only a few days left, then we can all regroup and get ready for the 2005 filing season.

                        Sandy

Hold up your right hand (I'm a Notary RE-Public (as my clients put it). Repeat after me:
"I solemnly swear, under penalty of perjury and on pain of serious bodily injury from my spouse/significant other, that I will complete my personal tax return this weekend."

Subscribed and sworn to before me this 13th day of October, 2005. ________________________Jainen

I know I should, and will try to do this, probably as the next season becomes more active and we practioners have more problems, particularly the ones I always seem to encounter!

I do seem to learn more with my mouth closed though !

As to the real Ricardo, even I am not sure of him, except he is not" inexcrupulous". Ask Black Bart about that term.

I thank you for the suggestion.

Actually, my wife says I could learn loads from her if I'd just shut up.

That was me (Black Bart) up above asking you to post. I forgot to log in.

Congratulations on being the first to point out my use of that wonderful and delightful nonsensical term, "inexcrupulous" (I thought nobody would ever mention it). I confiscated it from one "Orlando" on the other board several months ago and I just can't tell you how incredibly handy it has been to have the use of it. Of course there's no such word, but so what? After all, the same could be said for the classic non-term "discombublated" (see example of usage by Gene Hackman-"Bonnie & Clyde"). Anyhoo, it's a great all-around adjective. Though its origins are lost in antiquity and unknown, I believe it to be a derivative and a combination of the words "Inexcusable" and "unscrupulous." Clever mix, eh? It just rolls off the tongue and, in many cases, completely stupifies the listener who, I'm sure, thinks "Who is this nut?"

                                Thanks much.
