    Michigan Recipients of Retirement Benefits from Qualified Fire, Police

    3 Clients received letters of adjustment taking away their deduction of pension for Qualified Surviving spouse. They all have claimed this for the last 4 years without a problem.. Everything I looked up tells me that they are entitled to it. If we disagree with the adjustment we have to State in writing why you believe it is incorrect. Has anyone had this same Problem?

      It's been mentioned on the ATX board, https://community.atxinc.com/forums/thread/311531.aspx. Couple of people have received a dozen or so letters. Did the 4884 list the deceased spouse's name, ssn, & birth year?
