    Site loading

    Site has been loading at dial up speeds the last several days. Everyone or just me? I'm not having issues anywhere else on net.

      I have had the same problem on-and-off randomly for the past few weeks. I thought it was only me having that problem.
      The day I had my computer techie on the phone with me actually logging into my computer remotely to illustrate it to him - it was working.
      If other users here are experiencing this as well, please note it here so the board's users can probably identify what could be causing it.

          I called TTB couple of days ago thinking they could do something on their end. They said they are having the same problem.

            Same here. Some possible causes are DOS (denial of service) attacks, or maybe overly-aggressive scanning by AIs. Or it could be something more mundane, like a server or network misconfiguration. Their sysadmins should be able to detect this from server logs.

              I've also noticed that the display of number of replies in a thread, or the name of the most recent user to post a comment, are often not updated. When I posted my other comment just above, I also got a weird pop up error message about some SQL problem, so maybe their database needs cleanup of some kind.

                The error popped up again:
                • Invalid SQL: DELETE FROM `cacheevent` WHERE `event` IN ('nodeChg_312747','nodeChg_312741','nodeChg_15','n odeChg_14','nodeChg_2','nodeChg_1');

                  Servers / networks can do strange things. Within the past couple of weeks I've noticed some slow downloads / uploads from the TTB site. But everything. . .eventually. . .loads.
                  I've got greater things in life to be stressed over.

                    I send an email on this issue. The response is that they are aware of the issue and are looking into it. That was on Jan 19th, so appears the issue is a little more complicated than we realize.
