There are various postings stating the IRS is no longer accepting paper checks as tax payments. Is this true? Can 1040-ES vouchers still be submitted with paper checks, or must taxpayers pay all 1040-ES payments through the IRS website from now on?

No, it is not true. Any postings that say that are confusing the current rules about the IRS sending out payments/refunds.
Taxpayers can still pay the IRS by check. However, you should really encourage your clients to pay electronically.

IR-2025-94, Sept. 23, 2025 — The Internal Revenue Service, working with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, today announced that paper tax refund checks for individual taxpayers will be phased out beginning on Sept. 30, 2025, as required by Executive Order 14247, to the extent permitted by law.
