    Filing Exemption on Form W-4

    If qualified, is an employee allowed to file a new Form Form W-4 in September claiming exemption from withholding for the remainder of the tax year.

      Sure. Is it the wise thing to do? Are you advising him and agree with that decision? (Will he receive some dividends or interest or a raise or a bonus or...in November or December, for instance?) Is he motivated to file another Form W-4 before his first payroll in 2026? Will you end up reminding him next year?
