web browser for IRS login - Firefox?

I have never before had problems logging in to IRS web site using Firefox. But today I went to get my IP PIN, and all I get is a useless error message whenever I try to log in. (useless in the sense that there is no indication of why it isn't working, which is a sure sign of crappy programming). It simply says "try again in a few minutes".

After multiple tries over a short period of time, I held my nose and used MS Edge browser, and everything worked fine. Then I tried FIrefox again, just to be sure, same useless error message.

    Anyone else?

Wouldn't be surprised. They probably coded it for Chrome/Safari/Edge. Firefox is about dead as far as market share.

Firefox is still supported for Free Fillable Forms and also for accessibility (handicap access), and it was supported for my needs until just the very recent experience. Market share has nothing to do with browser compatibility. IRS clearly does intend to support Firefox across its web sites. FF is still a great alternative to the tracking of your personal data that Google and Microsoft implement.

Even though the new "administration" isn't in place in D.C. yet, this could be just part of the overall plan to degrade IRS services

EDIT: see following post, this was a false alarm.

For JAWS v19 on Windows 10: Don’t use Internet Explorer. Use Edge, Chrome or Firefox web browsers.

Sorry for the false alarm. I had just updated and restarted my Firefox browser to the latest version before trying the IRS login that failed. Today I was logged in to a different computer, and it worked fine with the same version of FF, so there must be some odd issue with my primary computer, it will probably go away the next time I sign out of Windows or reboot.

It's still crappy programming to not provide any kind of meaningful error message.
