Somewhat related to this discussion:
I am on Medicare and have a (free) Medicare Advantage plan through my prior employer.
My annual Form SSA-1099 shows an entry for Medicare B and an entry for Medicare D (my advantage plan offers extra prescription drug benefits).
I have NEVER had any entry for Medicare C costs shown on my Form SSA-1099. It is exceedingly rare for such to show up on a client's tax paperwork.
With very rare exceptions (maybe some of the early COVID issues??) I never receive any EOBs or related documents from Medicare. Everything is shown on my monthly EOBs from my Medicare Advantage plan.
