    Charitable Remainder Trust

Does anybody know if the 1040 schedule A deduction is a 50% or 30% when you do a charitable remainder trust.?

I would think they would put in highly apprecaited stock into the CRT.

    Thanks.

The way I read the rules; if the asset contributed is cash, then you may deduct up to 50% of your AGI.
If the asset contributed is long-term appreciated property, then you may deduct up to 30% of your AGI.
