    e-file reject

    My client's e-filed return was rejected with codes of IND-180-01 and IND-997. I tried calling the IRS but got nowhere. Where can I get started clearing this? I have entered the correct IP PIN as shown on the IRS notice CP01A. This is for a 2022 return. I have submitted a 2848 so the IRS will talk to me. Thanks for any helpful suggestions.       So your problem maybe as easy as this..

      The IP PIN is not TY specific, but year specific. If your using the PIN they received in 2023 for the 2022 return and your filing it now, that's your problem. Go get the current PIN and it should work.
