    E-FIN Status

    Perhaps I am loosing my mind. I am checking on my efin status with the IRS and it says active. However, I thought in prior years I was able to look at an letter in my account specifically for that year. Is there such a thing (still or ever)?

      I vaguely remember back in the day they would send a letter in the fall that you were approved for following year after they checked that you sent the 8453's. PTIN produces an e-message that you are good after you have registered.

          Kathy, I renewed my PTIN and have all that. There were two separate things but perhaps not any longer. Thanks,
