I thought the "inflation rate" varied every six months for all I-bonds, and the underlying interest rate (30 years?) on date of issue remained constant.
Stated differently, the semi-annual interest payments for everyone would vary based upon the applicable inflation rates.
Are you saying that whatever rates (bond rate + inflation adjustment rate) in effect at the time of original purchase remain CONSTANT over the entire life of the bond?

The Treasury Direct website has posted the new series "I"- savings bond rate for the six-month period of 11-1-23 / 4-30-24 to be 5.27%
This rate includes a fixed rate of 1.30% and an inflation adjusted annualized rate of 3.97%.
