    Solar System Depreciation

What is the life of a solar system? I hope it's not 27.5 years for residential property.

The life of a solar system ... our sun and the 9 planets (I still count Pluto as a planet) ... probably should be depreciated over several million years.

Solar panels are generally depreciated over 5 years. :-)

You made me smile...You just mention the panels, which need to be replaced more often than all the other components of inverter and wiring and such. So 5 years for everything or just for panels and perhaps batteries and the generator 7 years?

Actually you have it backwards. Panels have a 25-50 year life. All other equipment is usually 5-10 years (batteries/inverters).

That being said, it appears to be 5 years.
