    1041 return

    what would the cost be to file a 1041 form i will have to purchase the program for a cost of $200.00 plus input all information

    I am not clear on your question. Are you talking about filing fees or your charges or both. Your message tells me that your software does not produce the 1041 return and you have to buy a new software?

    The prep charges for entity and fiduciary returns vary by the complexity. I have charged as low as $150 for a straight forward decedent estate 1041 and as much as $600 for an estate with multiple K1 and multiple states.

    Before you quote a price just be careful about the scope and involvement of your work. I have been stuck with conference calls with attorney's for hours and I felt I could not adequately charge for my time.

      I don't charge less than $600 for a 1041.

        I start at $400 and start adding for each K-1.
