    My first customer got in, then got out quickly. I treated it as a short-term sale on 8949, and the trading company was helpful enough to send enough statistics to do so.

    Not sure how to treat a "trade" for different kinds of currency. I would imagine also an 8949 would be required, with the "proceeds" being the market value of the currency obtained.

      If your client is trading through Robinhood Crypto LLC will have a few reports they can download for you to complete 8949.
