    Form 8829 Depreciation Percentage

    I picked up a new client w/ a daycare. The prior preparer used 11.7% on line 41 of form 8829. The taxpayer has been in the house operating a daycare since 1999. Any idea where the prior preparer got 11.7%? According to the instructions, it should be 2.564%. TIA.

      If I had to guess, the prior preparer somehow got things mixed up with the Time/Space percentage on Line 7.

      At any rate, 11.7% is definitely wrong.
