    letters 6475 and 6419

    I am surprised although I shouldn't be that for married filing joint returns each spouse is receiving letter 6475 and 6419 and splitting the amounts received. You would think that since a joint return is filed there would just be one 6475 and 6419 for both of them. On the 6419 say if they have 2 children total they are each getting a 6419 that says they have 2 children. So typical.

    It actually makes sense. What if they divorced in 2021? Or if they decide to file MFS in 2021. The letter splits the amounts for that reason.
    I would put a favorite quote in here, but it would get me banned from the board.
