    Tax Planning Software

Is anyone using a tax planning software? If so which one and why do you like it?

    Thanks.

I was using the more robust module CCH offers for a couple years with the TCJA changes. But it's pricey, so I dropped in after a couple years. I just use what's built into ProSystem fx. If Congress votes more new tax laws this year, I might add CCH's planner again.

Most of the professional tax software includes a planner. What tax software are you using?

Isn’t it interesting when a OP starts a post and drops off….

I think most tax prep software will have a next year tax projection feature. If you are looking for longer term planning rather that short term projection, you'll need something more. Personally, I use Excel. I have templates set up for the more common planning items such as how Roth vs Trad will affect tax in retired years.

I am looking for more long range than just one year. I will check out the posts listed above.

See if Drake offers a more robust planner that works with your software. If not, then try CCH, etc., for their planners.

I am a Drake user too and looking for a better tax planning software as Drake is too basic and it misses a lot important calculations in tax planning with no diagnostics.
If you find one a better one please share here. Thanks
