    Trade school

Client's daughter attended a trade school in 2020 and received a 1098t from school. box 1 is 6000, box 5 2000. box 8 is checked as at least half time student. The school is a school of hair, skin & body. Does she qualify for AOT in 2020? The school only lasted one term.

How do I know if my school is an eligible educational institution?

A21. An eligible educational institution is a school offering higher education beyond high school. It is any college, university, vocational school, or other post-secondary educational institution eligible to participate in a Federal student aid program run by the U.S. Department of Education. This includes most accredited public, nonprofit and privately-owned–for-profit post-secondary institutions.

As long as there is a 1098-T I don't question the school's qualification.
