    Estate deduction question

Are utility expenses paid on real property held in an estate prior to sale deductible administrative expenses? If so, subject or not subject to the 2% floor?

Rental expenses should be deducted as rental expenses on Sch.E. They are not administrative expenses. Do you only have utilities as rental expenses? Was a Sch.E filed before death?

      i think you are referring

to a house that was owned by the decedent and will be transferred or sold by the estate? if so any cost incurred to maintain the house ,prior to sale or transfer ,are deductible as miscellaneous itemized dedictions subject to the 2 % floor. real estate taxes would be deducted under taxes.

I am sorry. I misread the post. I made "rental" out of "real".
