    Medicare Premiums

    Single Taxpayer had $146,000.00 plus of AGI in 2019. Has now received a notice indicating
    the appropriate increase in Medicare Premiums for 2021. For 2020 the 1040 AGI will be about $60,000.00.
    Will the premium be reduced to the basic charge for tax year 2022?

    Yes, as long as he files a 2020 tax return. I had a client who had no filing requirement the next year but we made sure she filed so Medicare premium would drop back down. Sounds like he will file for 2020 so it will resolve itself.
