May be a dumb question, but can't find any instruction or FAQ on this: when inputting SSN, do you put in the dash separators or not? Keep getting message "info does not match our records." (Have tried both ways and still get same message -- all other info is correct.)

The SSN must be enteredWITHOUTany dashes. The date of birth must be enteredWITHslashes. The address and ZIP code (5 digits only) must match the return exactly. The AGI must be entered in whole numbers onlyWITHOUTthe comma(s). There's also a list of FAQs on the IRS web page to explain error messages.

I also looked over the faq section to find out if my banking info from 2018 , which I owed money, and was electronically withdrawn from SAME bank account I'm looking for Direct deposit would be ok?
Apparently , IRS will not be able to make a direct deposit, although info was same and provided on 2018 , because it was a balance paid , not a refund direct deposited that year.
Crazy!
I guess I may see a check in mail sometime this summer.
Beyond frustrated with the glitches.

The "Information does not match our records" could come from a couple of things.
First of all, don't fret about the dashes in the Social Security Number; putting them in or leaving them out will not make a difference.
Secondly, the information about the street address in this thread is wrong. It needs to be what the IRS wants (which we do not know), not what was on the return. I had a client whose address on the return was "999 NORTH WHATEVER STREET" and I needed to use "999 N WHATEVER ST" instead. Also, some addresses have dashes in the house number. I had to remove those (in other words, "166-29" becomes "16629"). You also need to leave out the Apartment Number information. Some have suggested better success using this site to first format the street address:
Thirdly, I am hearing that using all upper case is the most reliable. I have not tried lower case, so I cannot say for sure.Doug

Why can't the government come out with CLEAR instructions as to how to input the data that will provide a person with what they came to the site for?
Is it necessary for us all to waste time on whether it's 999 NORTH WHATEVER STREET or 999 N WHATEVER ST?
One would EXPECT that since tax return (or Social Security) data is the source used to provide this money, IRS would state that up front when entering the data requested.Uncle Sam, CPA, EA. ARA, NTPI Fellow

The 2018 & 2019 returns with refund and direct deposit: Stimulus PAYMENT was direct deposited. 5 confirmed cases.
If you owed and even if you paid via ACH payment from tax software, the PAYMENTS were not processed (3 confirmed cases). . . maybe will be processed and paid later?

At this point in time based on my experience with my clients, folks who had a Federal balance due in 2018 or 2019 are in the back of the line. The Get My payment does NOT even recognize them and simply states something like "No information is available". And this is causing much confusion.Taxes after all are the dues that we pay for the privileges of membership in an organized society. - FDR

Just to follow up once again. Based on the GET MY PAYMENT link, I can only add my banking information, for direct deposit , if I e-file a 2019 Tax return. 2018 Taxes were filed, but IRS is not allowing updated information for that year, for purposes of stimulus payment. Back of line I sit...
