    solar energy credits

    I have read that you can carryback solar energy credits back 1 year. My client is using his credit in 2019, can I amend his 2018 to claim a credit, and how do I do that?

    He has credits left over to carryforward too, even using credits for 2019 and 2018, if I can amend

      Is this a solar credit under section 25D? If so, no carryback.

        Residential (Form, 5695), no, there is no carry back.

        Business/rental (Form 3468 and 3800), yes, Form 3800 has a carryback provision (but I would need to look up the details).
