Should you give the QBID for people who get a 1099-MISC? I haven't been unless to me it is continual and ongoing work. For example a teacher got a 1099-MISc for monitoring SAT test site. She does it every year and gets around $600. She also gets a W-2 for her normal teaching duties of course. Should she get the QBID for the 1099-MISC. Not talking big numbers. But how do you determine what is continuous and ongoing. To me it is very subjective. I did not give her the QBID in this case.
QBID for people who get 1099-MISC for occassional work or sporadic or one time?

Determining whether something is a "business" on Schedule C can be a bit subjective, and is quite annoying to figure out. But if you determine it IS a "business" on Schedule C, it gets QBID.
If it is NOT a "business", it is entered as "Other Income" (not Schedule C) and does not get QBID.
