I would be entering exactly what is supplied by client with the other 2 options.. However, entering "false" business info on the Sch C just would not be ethical in my eyes, especially seeing the client does not have a business (just the way I do not do things just to get it passed thru). Glad there are other options more to my way of thinking.Comment

I assume you write "false" in quotes since there isn't any false info on the C.
Are you going to bill the client for responding to the CP2000?"Taxation is the price we pay for failing to build a civilized society." ~ Mark SkousenComment

Hooray!!! With the client's permission, I called the person who actually created the 1099 MISC. It appears that the lawyer had no idea how to handle, and the person doing the 1099MISC did what she was told. After explaining everything to her, my client had a corrected form to -0- out the mistake. She is working on the correct 1099 form.
So, I want to thank everyone for your responses. I now have a couple options to use in the future if need be. I just wouldn't feel comfortable preparing the Sch C option, but I do appreciate the option. Thanks again everyone!Comment
