    Form 1098-t

    Well, it seems the schools are still having difficulty with these forms. Just got one from VA Tech which shows in excess of $10K as "payments received and reported in Box 1" on the back of 1098T which is correct. But that amount included $1,805 for a dining plan, and Box 1 of the 1098T form shows nothing for tuition. All of the balance was for qualified tuition and related expenses (fees). So we still have to have a transcript.

    Yeah, from what I heard the schools that were previously using Box 2 (and are no longer allowed to) are really messing up the 1098-Ts.

      I always ask for the bursars report to get numbers regardless of what 1098-T says, I have seen some real dinky's this year.
