    New W-4

It used to be that if an employee wanted less withheld from his paycheck he could simply increase the number of exemptions on his Form W-4 and hand it to his employer. Not so anymore with the new form. So how does he do it? Can he place a negative amount in Step 4(c)? Nothing in the instructions that I could find. The on-line calculator does not address this issue either. Anyone else have this situation?

Calculate what the exemptions would be and put it on line 4b. Example if someone had been claiming S2, check the single box and put 8,400 on line 4b.

Just received a 2018 W2 (she's behind) claiming Single 9. Of course she will owe. Maybe the new W4 format will reduce these situations.
