    Quickbooks applications

I have reviewed many applications like AutoEntry, HubDoc and Bill, in order to speed up manual input of information in Quickbooks. AutoEntry has good reviews. Anyone can recommend QB applications in order to expedite manual input of bank statement information, invoices and bills.

You can set up bank and credit card import directly within QB. I can't imagine it would be quicker to scan and check invoices and bills than it would be to just enter them. Looks like there is a free trial period where you can evaluate software so you could check time involved and any potential accuracy errors.

If your client is on the cash basis, how about doing everything "after the fact," downloading bank and CC statements and distributing them to the appropriate income and expense accounts. If the client invoices from QB, then the invoices are already in. If they are not accrual based, then do you need the bills entered before they are paid? Make it as easy as possible for the client's use, if they are doing their own day-to-day books. If you are keeping their books, then demo software you think would make it easy for you.

Lion, even if accrual you could do that and make an adjusting entry 12.31 for open payables that is reversed on 1.01. That would work for tax purposes, but give misleading info if client is looking at interim financials to see how they are doing. On bank statement, there would be no detail for checks written as opposed to debit card transactions, so you would still need to go back and fill in the payee, etc info.
