My client made contributions to her Roth for many years, she is over 59 1/2, more than 5 years, etc.. The total contributions are more than the total distribution available that was taken in 2018. Is there a way to take a capital loss on the lost contributions in 2018? Otherwise the 8606 continues to show a basis that is not really there.
