    1099Q in the child's name

When a 1099Q is issued in the child's name, does that form go on the child's taxes, even though child does not have any income and does not need to file a return.
The only item for my client is the 1099Q so do I do a return to report the earnings and the college expenses on the child's return or can I put it on the parents return and calculate it accordingly.
The child will be a dependent on the parents and again the child does not need to file outside of this form.
    Thanks,

If the 1099Q proceeds were used for the dependent' child's education, I would show it on the parent's return.
