1098 Mortgage Interest Statement with Box 10 Other Information filled out

The wording in Box 10 is OLTOA 115000 points -CCBR-

This is treated as my clients second home and we deduct the interest in box 1. I am unsure why the points are reported and whether they could be deducted. From what I've read they are not as it is not the Main Home.

I would love to get some feedback for this.

You should determine what type of "points" they are referring to -- maybe mileage reward points? You should also find out what OLTOA and CCBR mean. Deductible loan points (interest) are reported in Box 6. It is highly unlikely that someone paid 115,000 U.S. dollars in loan origination points for a typical residence mortgage.
