A 16 year old is claimed as a dependent on her parents tax return. She has earned income of $1958 and received a W-2. There is no fed or state tax withheld. Does she need to file a tax return?

Gee Chris. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Believe it or not some of us are not full time tax preparers, and I wasnt aware that it was a requirement. I saved my pennies for a long time to afford the book. Hope you can get over it.Comment
