    Purchase/Sale dates for Estate 1041?

Decedent's estate sold decedent'a home . Questions (1) Sale shown on 8949, then Schedule D? (2) Is Purchase date the actual the decedent bought the house OR is the purchase date shown on the 8949(?) the date of death?

Inherited property. Generally, if you disposed of property that you acquired by inheritance, report the sale or exchange on a Part II with the appropriate box checked (D, E, or F). Enter “INHERITED” in column (b).

Clarification of original post: Decedent died May 1, 2018. Fiduciary sold decedent's home July 10, 2018. Decedent did not inherit her home. She originally purchased her home August 22, 1972. The question is what should be the "purchase date" on the decedent's 1041 return? August 22, 1972 or date of death May 1, 2018?

The estate's 1041? Or, is there a trust 1041? The estate began on 1 May 2018. If a trust, read the trust document to see when the house was placed in the trust.
