Client received NYS PFL benefits that was reported on 1099-Misc box 7. The amount is taxable income that must be included on 1040 but is it subject to FICA taxes.? Software that i use is calculating FICA taxes.

If this is non-wage income and not considered self-employment income then IMHO it should not be subject to social security tax. It does not add to your social security wage base correct?Taxes after all are the dues that we pay for the privileges of membership in an organized society. - FDRComment
