I notice that the home state of registered posters is no longer showing up on the Forum. Is this intentional?

I did see that. It was just convenient to have it on the front page and not to go elsewhere to see it. -
There's a Message Center, where you can see notifications, such as when you are quoted in someone else's reply. You can subscribe to threads. And then there is the "Enable invisible mode" feature (which I am deliberately not going to explain, so you can go look for it yourself). There are probably a lot of new features here that we have barely scratched on the surface.
