Employer paid for health insurance. Doing the W-2's but didn't know he had health insurance for employees. DD on the W-2 box 12 is my thinking but what about the 1095? Who does that me or the insurance company will send them? He doesn't know. Your thoughts would help if I put it on the W-2 and the 1095

Yes, Code DD on the W-2, but I think it is still optional for employers with less than 250 employees.
The Affordable Care Act requires employers to report the cost of coverage under an employer-sponsored group health plan.
If the employer has 50 or more full-time employees (or equivalents to full-time), the employer needs to file a 1095-C. If that does not apply, then only the insurance company needs to deal with the 1095-B.
