    Is anyone monitoring this board????

If you are, why have you let a message under "WOW" go undeleted?

    UNBELIEVABLE.

Looks like it has been removed. This is a professional message board and I also dislike the use of profanity in a professional environment.

      Thank you

I agree. If we can't be somewhat civil with each other on this wonderful board, go somewhere else.

        Filter

There is a filter on the board which attempts to keep profanity from entering the posts. I have added the term in the referenced message to our filter.

          Thank you. That should help.

I'm sure you mean well, but I think the censor has run amuck. It's now dipping into the middle of ordinary words that happen to contain the lowbrow version of the posterior portion of the anatomy. Several posts around the board are riddled with filter-flak.

            Examples:

            He got a hall pass
I assume you want to go
I'm taking an English literature class
            Have some compassion for others

And so forth. Maybe reprogram it to zap out stand-alone cursewords only?

                Vuglar

Guys, I used to visit ATXers - a board so active you couldn't hardly keep up with it.
The format they used exploded posts such that in a manner of minutes you could have a hundred responses.

I don't think they had a monitor, or if they did he was bulldozed by the sheer mass of posts. I couldn't really handle the vulgarity -- some of these guys went beyond ordinary swearing and discussed slimy contortions of bodily parts and functions. And they would also debase other members and call each other names. In short, this was nothing more than a zoo.

In my younger days, I had my share of smoking behind the gym and telling dirty jokes, and bar-hopping and getting smashed, so maybe I don't deserve any better. But that board was a real low-class experience, and I am quite proud that we do a better job at TTB.

And yes, I know I mis-spelled "Vulgar" above...

Well since they are now owned by Europeans maybe their standards are lower.

ATX is pretty good right now..

lively but cival. Booting a few posters and requiring registration made a huge difference. Quality of the tax posts is similar, sometimes one of these two hits the mark faster than the other.

This one seems to use primary material more, ATX users tend to live more in the Pubs.

                    Just my thoughts

That's an interesting comment. What is it based on?

The price we pay for allowing an open message board on our web site is that offensive posts will at times make there way onto the board and remain for a time. We will delete them when they appear, but we cannot monitor the board every minute of the day.

It is actually surprising how few times this happens. We expose ourselves to abuse and profanity. Free speech enables people to criticize our company and product. We risk having people with ulterior motives plant negative posts in an attempt to sabotage our efforts.

Thank you to all who have maintained a high standard and professionalism on this board. Freedom has its price. I think, however, the risk is worth it.

                          Words

Well it looks like I can't use "assuming" because it blockes out first three letters. I guess that is the way of word filters.

                          (note added after my post)
It looks like that was fixed sometime yesterday.

                            Words

I appreciate the quality of this Board. I am back on the Board and guess I missed out on posts referred to. Oh well, I have seen this kind of language before. It reflect an unleared mind and a limited vocabulary.
