So, this guy calls in and says he's a self-employed carpenter making 50K. Says last year he paid 39%, but with the new bill he'll pay 23%. LOL!

He must have been listening to conservative talk radio because I have also received calls from a few self-employed clients wondering if they will be paying 21% rate for their business income!

People who are clueless about taxes but go on like they know what they are talking about just plain crack me up.

Where the heck did he come up with 39%??? Sure hope he's better at math when he calculates how many 2 x 4's he needs for a job.

He added his SE Tax of about 14% to his marginal 25% bracket = 39%.
